Program Description:

  • Roxy Theater Field Trips:  Tours and award-winning films on special topics, species or issues related to the natural world.  Group leaders work with IWMC staff to choose the film topic or individual, age-appropriate selections.  The cost is $3 per student or $4 with popcorn and a drink.  
  • Programs in Schools:
    • Kids Wildlife Film Safari: Topics are introduced through wildlife film and followed with a hands-on presentation by an artist, biologist or educator.  Programs can vary in length from 2 to 10 days depending on school interest and desired depth of study. 
    • Young Filmmakers Workshop: Students learn how to produce their own films including use of equipment, wildlife research, and the ethics of working with wildlife when filmmaking.  5 full days or 5-10 afternoons to complete. Contact IWMC about location and cost.  Some scholarship assistance may be available. 
    • Kid's Songwriting Workshop: Participants work with a professional songwriter and performance artist to research, write and perform an original wildlife song.  The IWMC offers a 2-day workshop in the summer and during school breaks at a cost of $40 per student.  Contact IWMC to schedule a workshop and to negotiate a school or group fee. Materials Available to Teachers.
    • Education Packs: They include activities in science, arts education and visual literacy, media literacy, social studies, writing and math.  A $5 donation is requested for material use plus any additional shipping cost. 
    • EarthVision Media Library: The IWMC has hundreds of archived award-winning wildlife films available for public or educational use.  They will search for a specific topic over the phone.  $10 per film for 2 weeks plus shipping and handling.  Matinee Program During the annual International Wildlife Festival.  Cost is $3 per student with no charge for teachers and chaperones. Related programs include: Kids Wildlife Art Club and WildWalk Parade and Wildfest
