Plan Your Blackfoot Visit

From floating the famed Blackfoot River to hiking into the Scapegoat Wilderness, the Blackfoot watershed offers a wealth of outdoor experiences. Across these 1.5 million acres, visitors will find lands managed by multiple different state and federal agencies intermingled with private ownerships. Planning ahead ensures safe, quality experiences, while helping to protect the Blackfoot’s wild landscapes.

The Blackfoot watershed has something for everyone, with dozens of river access sites, trailheads, campgrounds and visitor sites. These public lands and resources are managed by several state and federal agencies — each with their own resources, rules and regulations. One goal of the Blackfoot Recreation Committee is to provide a central location for folks planning to visit the Blackfoot watershed to link to information that helps support a meaningful and safe experience — and can better help distribute recreation use across the landscape.
