Alyssa earned a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. She spent 23 years working as an elementary school teacher in both the Lincoln and Helmville schools, where she enjoyed giving kids the opportunity to explore and learn outside in the Blackfoot Valley. During her first several summers in the Blackfoot, she worked for PRO Outfitters. More recently she has spent summers pitching in at The Stray Bullet, where you still might run into her helping out at times. She has been an active member of the Blackfoot Challenge Education Committee and Teachers Steering Committee since 2001 and was a BCCA Council member from 2005-2008. Alyssa lives in Helmville with her husband and son, where they enjoy spending time in the mountains, hunting, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling.
